Frances Thiele I began learning harp at nine years of age and have trained predominantly with Xanya Mamunya and Moiry Lawry. I have also studied harp at the Flinders Street School of Music in Adelaide, where I played with the Adelaide Youth Orchestra, and with Daphne Boden from the Royal Academy of Music in London. I have performed extensively over the last twenty years at many public and private events, including folk festivals in South Australia and Victoria as well as with companies such as the Melbourne City Opera. I perform traditional music from England, Scotland and Wales on lever harp and classical music and/or jazz on pedal harp. In 2002 I released my first solo CD of traditional music Heart's-Ease and in 2009 was a featured soloist on Scott Cameron's CD of Broadway swing tunes Lazy. telephone: (03) 5426 4109 or 0405 378 352 email: francesthiele@bigpond.com |
